Les Gemmel Legend Awards ont été créés l’an passé en hommage à l’auteur David Gemmel, disparu en 2006. Ils récompensent un roman de fantasy paru l’année précédente (Legend) et cette année une catégorie Premier Roman (Morningstar) et Plus Belle illustration de couverture (Ravenheart). Ce prix est soumis au vote du public du monde entier et sera remis en juin à Londres. A noter cette année, la double nomination d’un français : Pierre Pevel.

Le Prix Hugo, prix américain récompensant les meilleures oeuvres de science-fiction et de fantasy parues en langue anglaise l’année précédente, vient de dévoiler sa Short List pour 2010. Le Prix sera remis en septembre au cours de la World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) qui se déroulera à Melbourne.
